Buone notizie dal Marocco. La ministra per gli Affari Femminili Nausha Skalli ha annunciato che il suo governo sta per firmare il protocollo CEDAW, contente una serie di garanzie cruciali per i diritti delle donne. E ciò senza dubbio è frutto anche della presenza femminile nella nuova commissione consultiva per la riforma costituzionale nel Paese, della quale fanno parte pure 5 donne.

Request for the consideration of women’s human rights in the forthcoming Moroccan constitution.
Mr. President of the Consultative Commission for the Review of the Moroccan Constitution,
Given the considerable progress and achievements made by Morocco in the field of human rights during over the past decade, we believe that the current constitutional reform is yet an opportunity that will allow the Kingdom of Morocco to consolidate its strategic and progressive choices for the consecration of the rule of law and democracy and the respect of human rights, individual and collective freedoms for women and men.
The present reform project cannot be realized without taking fully into account the basic human rights of women, as an essential catalyst for democratization, social justice, progress and for the establishment of the universal values of human rights.
In the light of what was stated above, we respectfully request the integration of the principle of equality between women and men in the new Moroccan constitution and the implementation of concrete and positive measures and mechanisms aiming at reducing all forms of discrimination and exclusion against women. This will lead to the consolidation of the achievements and to the continuation of the reform process through harmonizing the Constitution with the international commitments of Morocco.

Objet: Demande de prise en compte des droits humains des femmes dans la prochaine constitution.
Monsieur le Président,
Eu égard aux progrès réalisés et aux acquis du Maroc en matière des droits humains durant la dernière décennie, nous sommes convaincus que l’actuel chantier de la réforme constitutionnelle est une autre opportunité qui permettra au Royaume de concrétiser ses choix stratégiques et progressistes pour la consécration de l’Etat de droit et de démocratie qui respecte les droits et libertés individuelles et collectives aussi bien des femmes que des hommes.
Ce chantier ne pourra se concrétiser sans la prise en compte des Droits humains fondamentaux des femmes, levier central la démocratisation, à la justice sociale, au progrès et à l’instauration des valeurs universelles des droits humains.
Au regard de ce qui précède, nous vous sollicitons par la présente, pour la constitutionnalisation de l’égalité effective entre les sexes et des mesures et mécanismes positifs, susceptibles de limiter les discriminations et l’exclusion à l’encontre des femmes. Ceci permettra d’une part, de consolider les acquis et, d’autre part, de poursuivre le processus de réformes en harmonisant la constitution avec les engagements internationaux du Maroc.
