In 1971 she moved to California to pursue her career as an actress; however, at the beginning she performed in various night clubs as a dancer and singer, until she made her debut film appearance in the 1972 film Lady Sings The Blues, which was followed by the role of Judy in the film entitled Group Marriage (1973), directed by Stephanie Rothman.
